Is the basic certificate not enough for you and do you want to set sail yourself soon? With a little more study effort, you can pass the exam for the inland proficiency certificate (BFA-Binnen). This means you can now rent boats from Austrian and international rental companies (inland waters). The previously very well-known A certificate has been replaced by the BFA Binnen by the Austrian Sailing Association. This internationally valid certificate entitles you to independently operate a sailing boat (including participation in regattas) and the BFA Binnen is also required by almost all boat rental companies as a certificate of proficiency. As preparation for the BFA Binnen course, we strongly recommend our basic certificate course for sailing beginners. Training WITHOUT prior knowledge for the BFA Binnen (within 4 training days) is not realistic and does not correspond to our philosophy. In our BFA Inland course, we prepare you intensively with all our KNOW-HOW and experience for the theoretical and practical exam, which will be taken on the last day of your training by an examiner sent by the OeSV.

If the practical result is still negative, we will cover your exam fee if you have to retake the exam.

4 days / daily from 10 a.m. to approx. 5 p.m. (+/- depending on wind and weather conditions / 1 hour lunch break). Monday to Thursday (SALT REGULAR) or on 2 weekends (SALT WEEKEND) or long weekend including public holiday (SALT SPECIAL).

Equipment / clothing:
Sports shoes (or sailing shoes if you have them) with LIGHT soles, spare shoes, sun protection (cap & sunscreen), sporty leisure clothing, spare clothing, gloves (do not have to be sailing gloves, climbing gloves or cycling gloves are also possible), swimwear, rain jacket & optionally, ideally if you have them (water-repellent sailing clothing - otherwise we will of course provide this free of charge, as will the life jacket).
