ORIGIN OF EVERY FUN ON THE SLOPES A good deal of body control is required when riding across the snow on the barrel staves. These semi-circular boards are taken from old barrels, fitted with bindings, and are used on the descent instead of the technically sophisticated skis.
Of course, it still works like our modern professionals: in a warm-up lap, the participants familiarize themselves with the properties of the material, hone the finer points of the technique, and only then do they start the competition.
In this ski race like in grandfather's day, it's not just about time. Skill and commitment are also included in the score. The subsequent award ceremony will show us who made the best overall impression.
The shape of the staves really doesn't make it easy to stay on top of them and stand. The unruly things tempt ambitious participants to perform some acrobatics. And so after such a race, there are always reports of sore muscles, strangely enough especially in the stomach area of the spectators...
We are happy to provide your group with warm punch or tea - in our adventure camp in Spital am Pyhrn also by the campfire - to warm up in between.

Important information:
We are happy to hold this event at your desired location on request. Any travel expenses incurred will be charged. A descent with the barrel staves is of course only possible if there is sufficient snow. In the event of bad weather or a lack of snow, an alternative program will be carried out by arrangement. We recommend wearing clothing appropriate to the temperature and weather conditions, ideally in adjustable layers according to the onion shell principle.
